The Buford Lodge and Store is this hidden gem and a perfect spot for a wedding. Kalee and Haris found it by chance. They were driving around western Colorado exploring on a mini vacation and trying to find a venue for their wedding.
Their greatest challenge was trying to find a place that everyone could stay and have the wedding in the same place. They were planning on having around 250+. The Buford Lodge were more than accomodating with their cabins, RV spaces, and tent spots and let their family and friends take over the place for 3+ days. It was really fun to see.
The venue, aside from having oodles of space, was really pretty. It has tons of gorgeous trees and goes right along the river. I found it to be a very calm awesome spot and would highly suggest it for someone looking to go somwhere off the beaten path.
The Buford Lodge is basically the town of Buford and very close to Meeker. While we were out there we were surrounded (in the nearby valleys) by wildfires and all the firemen were staying in Meeker and doing shifts 24hrs a day fighting them. It was crazy to see what it takes.
An odd fact about this wedding was that it is up in a corner of Colorado that I've never been. Not sure why but I've been all over the state but I have yet to discover the Northwest of Colorado, definitely more to see.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
