Having a Grand Teton National Park wedding is always going to be an amazing idea. Check out this last one I photographed in the fall. I will always have a sweet spot in my heart for the fall, but it was pretty incredible to see this amazing place in the winter. For most of the day it was perfect. Bright sunshine and rather warm. Once that sun went down it got windy and whew!, time to find a fireplace.
This really was an all day adventure. Andrea and Trent rented a cabin for thier mini wedding vacation with their daughter, little Anne Parker; this giggly goofy 5 year old. I have 2 little ladies as well and she and I had a good time once she could see her feet under that giant poofy dress.
They wanted to have a spectacular view for their elopement wedding ceremony and I couldn't think of a better view than Jenny Lake in the Grand Teton National Park. You are right near this massive beautiful lake which is really close to the teton mountain range and if you time it right the light cuts right through them onto you.
My M.O. is to get photographs that aren't the usual ones you will see. Let's get off the path and explore. Most people don't, which is kind of sad. Occasionally that can get tricky figuring out how to get to that spot. So good shoes are advised and bring water!
Poor Anne couldn't see her feet when heading down to the lake. That kinda makes it hard to walk ya know. They were all troopers trudging through deep snow and some mild hiking. No one stands a chance against winter wind though. Uggghhh. Thankfully we were done and the light got weird and too dark.
This was certainly an adventure I will remember and I hope Andrea and Trent and little AP will as well. Much better than going to plain park gazebo for 20 minutes and calling it good.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
