Erica and Brady's Maroon Bells Amphitheater Wedding was on the perfect fall Colorado Day. I distinctly remember feeling this incredible elation while coming over Independance Pass into Aspen. I knew today was going to be special. I'm a true sucker for gold and red aspen trees and they are plentiful in and around Aspen Colorado.
Erica and Brady opted to have a smaller (<40) sized wedding. Something that I am noticing more and more. Bring only the people you love, not the entire town. Hahahahaha. Jokes aside, its true. You want to do it right when you get married and maybe part of that is doing it your way and not having 200 people there.
We are pretty spoiled as wedding photographers in Colorado. Nature certainly give you a great head start. This is when I tend to focus on emotion and moments rather than creating a scene. Nature has provided the best scene so why mess with that? Doing wedding portraits up at Maroon Bells can be tricky when you have out of town guests that haven't acclimated to altitude yet. Got to work fast and drink LOTS of water.
Once I arrived to the reception I was delighted to see all of amazing details Erica and Brady's families had created for their wedding. Erica wanted an Alice in Wonderland theme and every table and side area was completely done up with little details and takeaways from the story. I was very impressed. It was so creative and done very well.
Side note: if you are thinking this is beautiful and a place you want to get married. Go and visit the Recreation Site to see how to book your wedding at the Maroon Bells Amphitheater.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
