Megan and Marty's Colorado elopement wedding adventure began with an evening at Black Canyon National Park to visit the painted wall among some other favorite spots of mine. It's hard to call their wedding just an elopement as we had their wedding ceremony in Telluride but then celebrated it all over Western Colorado and Northern California. Small but still incredibly grand at the same time..
We weren't blessed with an amazing sunset so I guess we will just have to go back. No problem for me. It's a pretty surreal place. For those who havent been, the canyon really appears out of no where in this large plateau. You go from a low valley into some tallish plateus but then boom this HUGE crack appears out of nowhere. While standing at the edge and can't help think about the pioneers coming west just rolling along and then they see this. oh crap. Now what? Its pretty clear you can't just hike down. Its steeeeeeep. It is certainly a site to see.
Located in western Colorado, Black Canyon National Park is a breathtaking marvel of nature, renowned for its sheer cliffs and rugged terrain carved by the Gunnison River.
