Lauren and Aaron only had one thing in mind for their wedding, Colorado. I told them not to worry, I know just the spot for them... Western Colorado outside Ridgeway. I grew up in these mountains and know them well and knew that they would love an adventure elopement wedding in western Colorado. From 4 wheeling, dirt biking, and the "occasional" high school mountain party, I know some really great spots. It really comes down to figuring out just a few details about the wedding they want to get them all the amazing views to make it a great wedding experience.
It's a great thing when couples contact me knowing they want to get married in Colorado but unsure of where to do it. THAT, is when the fun happens. We talk about how they picture their day, things they would like to do, and what kind of location. Most couples that contact me have a great appreciation and yearning for nature, which of course, I love too.
In their case, they did plan to have 10 or so in attendance for their ceremony but then afterward they wanted it to just be the two of them for a photo adventure to as many spots as I could pack into the time we had.
We started with a very nice first look that definitely calmed both and eased them into teh day. Nerves can be high but I took this moment for them to reflect that, we are here in this amazing place with these amazing trees to get married and how incredible it is that they found each other.
These aren't just events to get through during the day, but to really relish and be present in. We get a tendancy to just bulldoze through moments and this is certainly one to just take the hand of your loved one, take a deep breath and remember this moment.
