This engagement session in Boulder near the flatirons was really fun. Gianna and James wanted to find a unique location where you could see the Boulder Flatirons, but not from the Colorado Chautauqua in Boulder Colorado. It's a location we both thought has been photographed to death. It's always busy and parking is extremely difficult. The last time I was there, I saw 5 other photographers doing professional photo sessions. The Chautauqua has a really interesting history though you can read here.
After finding this special spot, Gianna and James brought an antique couch out with them into the wilderness to add some flair and fun; along with their goofy Labradoodle Lucky.
Speaking of dogs, bring them to your engagement session. They are a big part of your lives and totally deserve to be there and share in on the fun. It can make it easier to bring a friend to take your dog so they're not in every photo, but also not a distraction for you either. You can also even hire people to do this for you. I know a couple companies you can hire, for your wedding for your engagement session. One of my favorites is Angela withTop Dog Resort. She's really great with dogs in general but also a sweet person. This can also be a major help on the wedding day as well. One less thing to task a family member with or for you to worry about.
This spring engagement photo session turned out to be a very surprising. There was no weird weather and just an amazing sunset. In Colorado spring can be unpredictable and go from snow, wind, rain, and even hail.
If you're searching for a Boulder engagement photographer, you’ve probably seen countless Pinterest boards filled with champagne pops, matching beige outfits, and perfectly posed dip kisses. But the most meaningful engagement photos don’t come from trends — they come from your story.
The goal isn’t to recreate something that’s popular. The goal is to create something that feels like you two on your best day.
Worried about feeling awkward? Don’t be. The best engagement photo ideas near Boulder revolve around interaction, not posing.
Your photographer should guide you into movement rather than stiff poses. Natural connection always photographs better than forced perfection.
