Amanda and Chris' wedding was at the Breckenridge Nordic Center. I not only enjoy photographing Colorado mountain weddings but I also love doing them at venues that are new to me. It's a great way to reinvigorate those creative muscles and be met with new challenges. This one happened to be copious amounts of giant snowflakes. Honestly its the weather you dream of when planning a winter Colorado wedding: warmer weather with slow falling giant snowflakes and zero wind.
An interesting treat was the owner of the breckenridge Nordic Center coming out to play the accordion and kick off the reception by blowing a giant alpenhorn. It was pretty cool and unique. Riiiiicolaaaaa. Sorry I had to.
I have several great memories from Amanda and Chris' wedding. The first was just how calm and excited Amanda was. So chill and just ready to get married. No worries or anxiety. I love that. Another would be Chris and his groomsmen signing a pledge to give him guidance, help, and support and he begins this new future as a husband and beginning their family together.
As the rain began to turn to snow Amanda was adamant about holding the ceremony outside as planned. Many brides would have moved it indoors and I am so glad she didn't. I have wet weather bags for my cameras so no worries there. You have to prepare for anything with a Colorado wedding. So many giant fluffy flakes began to fall. The perfect situation.
Another great moment was Chris' dance with his sister to celebrate their mother who passed recently. A very sweet touching moment.
Ever since their engagement session I could really feel the love just pour out that they have for each other. A great reminder of why I do this and how important it is. Congratulations you two!
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
