Jackie and Ryan are getting married out of state : ( but really wanted to take some Colorado mountain engagement photos in the fall before their wedding. It's my favorite time of year so I am always game for playing in the trees and discovering new spots and spending time in the nice cool mountain air.
As with with of my sessions, we pick a highlight main location and then just explore whats around and follow what leads us. That is generally some really interesting light or the nature we find. On this occasion we had a little of everything, as well and some old mining operation equipment.
We discovered so many cool things on this engagement session. Some intense yellow aspen trees, a giant waterfall, a big steam boiler, a spot where the river goes right into the rock and then out the other side to the waterfall, and some weird grain sorting building that we couldn't quite figure out what it was used for.
Georgetown Colorado is a neat old mining town that has been updated a little but still manages to maintain it old town charm. Be careful though. There's not a lot of restaurant options and when everyone swarms the town to go see the trees it can be super tricky to find a place to eat. They also do a really cool thing in the winter where you can drive your car out onto Lake Georgetown and try your skills out on the ice racing track. There's also a 1800s steam train they do rides on during Christmas time and you can visit with Santa.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
