This Colorado mountain engagement photo session ran the gamut. We were able to capture so much terrian and changing conditions in a relatively short time span and location. One of my biggest goals for my couples is to give them variety. Not only in themselves but in location and light. This engagement session did not dissapoint.
We started out lower on the mountain and wandered for a bit and found this great spot deep in the trees. The light was cycling from cloud cover to bright sunlight cutting through the trees. It would change so quickly that the photos from the same moment and location look entirely different. It was really interesting to experience.
We wandered and attempted to dance amoung the piles of wood to be burned to control wildfires. They looked kinda weird from the road and I yelled stop, we have to go try it. Alex and Steve didn't even see them at the time and were pleasantly suprised once we walked into the trees a bit. I am always seeing stuff in the trees. No yeti or squatch yet. *sads
We tested out our fear of heights for a bit before heading up the mountain top. The road had some damage and I am sure the car caught air for a second two as we didn't see the bump coming at all. We all had a pretty good laugh after we figured out what happened.
As we approached the top the light was perfect. Just about to go behind the mountain and glowing so strong as we hear a whistle pig in the distance chirping at us. It was pretty funny.
We then went a bit lower to a large alpine valley to ride out the sunset. It was one of my favorite ways to enjoy and evening. I am really looking forward to their wedding this fall.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
