The Crystal Rose wedding venue is in the foothills just above Golden Colorado. It's had a long very sordid history from being a family cabin in the early 1900s to being a biker bar in the 1970s and 1980s. It still has that old cabin feel and the venue really takes care of the couples and guests.
It's best suited for those smaller weddings of less than 100 due to the reception space and even the ceremony site. I have had couples have their ceremony elsewhere and just the reception at the Crystal Rose as well. You have some options to work with. The getting ready room isn't prefect but I think Holly and I made it work for some interesting portraits of her.
Justin and his son getting ready was super cute and he was rearing to go. I think Justin was definitely channeling some James Bond / Daniel Craig vibes here.
The giant bonus of having a wedding at the Crystal Rose is that it's located on Lookout Mountain which has spectaular sunsets, some awesome viewpoints and uh, lookouts. There are lots and lots of photo locations and options for your portraits. So much so that we went out for portraits twice with Holly and Justin because the light kept getting better and better and we just had to run out for these sunset portraits.
