On a simply gorgeous hot summer afternoon these two got married at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Let me emphasize HOT. Whoooo. The Colorado sun doesn't mess around and plays for keeps. Luckily I had my brain on and doused myself in sunscreen. Win!
Audrey presented her mom with some wet plate tintypes I had done with her for a side project. She was a little in awe of them when I told her how they were made. The ladies got ready in the what I like to refer to as "the bunker" in the main buildings of the gardens. The ceremony was held at the Romantic Gardens which has a really neat tight row of trees leading your eye down to the fountain near the middle of the botanic gardens.
This wedding was a great challenge to try and find spots I or others haven't used before and had shade cover large enough for everyone so no one would be melting or have super squinty eyes.
5 days prior Audrey was hit from behind in her car on I-25 in traffic. Her car was totaled and she was hurting a bit. I was really feeling for her. I remarked that her skin looked amazing and she was glowing. I showed her a photo on the back of the camera (the one above) and she said, "Wow, that's how I look? That's not how I feel." My heart sank. Who wants to feel like garbage on their wedding day?
Audrey had some pain meds and persevered after a nice break out of the sun before the ceremony and she was thankfully good to go. Good thing she had Justin to be her rock.
You two are adorable and I wish you both the best and a huge congratulations. I am very proud to have been a part of it.
You want more of these two? Check out their engagement session.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
