Our first attempt to take engagement pictures was twarted by a crazy rainstorm. This second one was worth it as we had perfect weather and some of that delicious sunset glow I love so much.
Kara and Steve chose to have their engagement session at Sloans lake as they live nearby and have quite an affinity for their local park. It not only has great views and running paths but also some pretty great people watching. I was surprised how many people were out and about while we were shooting. It doesn't look that way, thankfully.
Kara, a grade school teacher, moved here from Arkansas and met Steven through a mutual friend. They chose to have their wedding at the Silverpick Lodge near Durango. One of my favorite venues. Steve went to school out in Durango and it's my mountains near where I grew up. I will gladly take any excuse to go back and what better one than watching two people who love each other start their lives together.
As you can tell from these Kara and a fun spunky lady and Steven is her rock and always up for an adventure.
