Jen and JT's Harold Washington Library wedding in downtown Chicago was an all day affair starting with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. The couple sits down and presents tea to the grandparents, parents, and other family members. It was a really great moment to witness Jenny's family accepting thier gifts. I really enjoyed seeing so much respect and reverance shown.
After getting ready at the hotel it was time for their first look. Because everyone needed to ride together on the trolley both Jenny and JT wore cute kawaii eye masks to keep it a surprise. JT, ever the prankster and lover of a good pun, had some custom microphone cuff links made by non other than Cuff Daddy.
We headed out to Millenium Park for their first look in this light row of trees I love. I worked about a block from there for a few years and love wandering the park. The weather was great and their bridal party were such great sports to entertain my crazy ideas while we toured the city.
We headed back to the Harold Washington Library for their wedding ceremony. The ceremony space is at the top of the library in this giant atrium. It looks and feels old, but was actually contructed in the 1990's. It has amazing light and can accomodate quite a few people. As you can tell, its also gorgeous.
After the ceremony JT and Jenny had a cocktail hour with a life Jazz trio and we managed to get some fun shots around the library's escalators, and of course the card catalog.
Thinking of getting married in Chicago? Don't hestitate and connect with me. Having lived there for years, I know so many cool spots for photos and I take any chance I can to come back to visit this city.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
