This was a tricky session. It was one of my first photography sessions since the Covid lockdown. Things were beginning to open and after a few reschedules, we finally were given the okay to go to the mountains. Something I really was missing myself.
We had a fantastic time and I was shocked at how many people were out and about in Estes Park, and in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a little nerve wracking as we didn't know much about safety procedures at the time and how Covid actually spread. It was not hard to wander off into the mountains and find a few special spots for Ashley and Sequoia without people around. They also brought a bottle of Champage to celebrate at the top which was a fantastic idea.
I suggested the hike to Dream Lake for their engagement session and once I showed them some photos, they jumped at the idea. We did my usual thing, of hiking and wandering off here and there when the light tells us to. You couldn't really ask for much better weather and I really love the photos of them together with their hair blowing in the wind with just the teensiest bit of sunset light coming through.
As their own wedding plans have changed and evolved in the time of the Corona virus, they may end up eloping here but hoped to do it abroad somewhere exciting. Either way, if they get married in the end, it doesn't matter how or where you do it. Just that they found each other, and know the other is their person.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
