Jackie and Alexis came to Colorado to get married. True to form for them, it wasn't fully planned. They were doing this huge cross country road trip and thought, hey, let's stop in Colorado. Then that became... what if we got married? Hmmm. Okay. Based off the views they wanted and trying to stay near their trip path I thought a Golden Gate Canyon State Park Elopement Wedding would be great for them. They wanted all the things basically. Some mountain views, great fall colors, and not to hike for hours on end. That's not to say I don't enjoy hiking myself, but this isn't about me. I want to find ways for my couples to achieve as many photo goals as they can and also be incredibly comfortable doing it. They looked great in their black dresses but their cute shoes had some limitations for us. Hahahaha.
These two were so cute. Neither had ever had professional photos taken and weren't sure what to expect. By the end of our time as the sun was going down we felt like old friends. I did manage to find some new fun spots for them that got a wee bit hairy but the views were worth it.
The Golden Gate Canyon State Park is a great option for an elopement wedding. It's very close to Denver, Colorado and has quite a bit of variety of views. A large section of the park is available for overnight camping and they have lots of educational programs for the campers. The park has quite a bit of wildlife considering how close it is to Golden and Denver.
Golden Gate State park really shines in the fall. The park is filled with several aspen groves and some really neat rock formations. There's also many easy hiking trails for you to explore the park and they're an easy way to enjoy nature.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
