The Lyons Farmette & River Bend is a rather unique wedding venue. It's right in the little town of Lyons, Colorado. It's famous for being a small stop on the way to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and home of the Oskar Blues Brewery (one of my favorites, also delicious food). The town iself is nice and has a lot of charm. I am sure it's famous for other things, these are mine.

Having a Lyons Farmette wedding is a great idea if you want a little dash of nature, vintage charm, and if you love goats and chickens. As the same, Farmette would suggest. It's like a mini farm. They have a vintage airstream on-site for the ladies to get ready while the guys get ready in the building and patio. If you love the idea of long tables for your reception, the Lyons Farmette excells at it. Everything is held outdoors out on the lawn that follows the creek that snakes through Lyons. You can see the kids had a great time playing it.

The day started out by guests riding on Banjo Billy's bus tours out of Boulder to head up to Lyons. This is an experience itself. With old school bus seats, old living room chairs, and even a saddle you guests can have fun while enjoying the breeze along the ride into the mountains. As Colorado likes to roll, the weather was all over the place. The day started out gorgeous, which turned into rain, which mutated into lots of rain, then hail, then an amazing post-storm sunset. Who knows, it made the day exciting and added to the story of the day.

Amanda and Errol booked a punk band called The Goonies to play for their reception and it was AWESOME! Mainly playing 80s hits, and not just rock, they killed it and brought so much fun energy to the guests. I highly suggest if you want live music but a jazz quartet sounds boring, get these guys... and lady. They were so much fun.
