I had been working with Linda helping her with wedding elopement ideas for the last 3 years. Schedules kept changing and life was evolving until last fall was the best timing for her and Steven before their big move to Montana. I really enjoy getting to know my couples and know their stories. Its akin to finding a band before they get famous. You can just feel so much is ahead of them and I get so excited.
Linda and Steven's adventure started in Grand Lake. They stayed in a tiny cabin at the Lemmon Lodge right on the water. They had their first look there and did some photos along the lake. The weather was being a bit temperamental and having short fits of rain and sunshine.
They brought so many little personal details into their wedding. They had wooden booklets for their vows, Linda's had this amazing autumn bouquet made of dried flowers, grasses and corn, and their rings were handmade with mountain ranges engraved within and stones set inside.
After leaving Grand Lake we headed into Rocky Mountain National Park stopping along the way every now and then to do some photos and explore.
Once we made it to the top on Trail Ridge Road Linda and Steven had their ceremony on a peak, all alone, reading their declarations and vows to each other. It was a really great personal moment. I love these smaller weddings. They tend to come across more personal and emotionally charged.
After their ceremony we waited for the sunset that didn't seem to want to show but when it did finally, it was incredible. Then of course, it was followed by tiny shards of ice and cold wind.
Both Steven and Linda were so up for anything and rolled with the ever evolving weather. I think it was well worth it as you can see here.
P.S. If you are curious about the moon, this was on the day of the Harvest Moon a day that has great significance for them.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
