Renae and Shawn's Rocky Mountain National Park wedding was on a calm and cool fall day. It really was pretty perfect.
These two came to Colorado to get married and do it such a simple, but perfect way. We started out doing photos around the park, hitting up a giant waterfall first. Nearby in a meadow there was this really long grass and you can see Renae and Shawn sword fighting and then Renae "casts" and she catches Shawn as he acts like a fish. Good times.
We then head over to Sprague Lake for their wedding ceremony. On the way there you could see all sorts of rainbow trout through the crystal clear water in the shallow river. It was pretty neat to see. There was a bit of construction going on the trail and adding in some seating or something for next year but we found the perfect spot with an amazing view.
At this point I generally try to just dissapear into nature and let the couple do their own thing and not feel like they are being watched or like they have to "look" or act a certain way. I want them to be in the moment, with each other and surrounded by nature. They exchange vows, kiss, and hug. Such a warm moment. I wait for a bit and then cheer and we all have heavy hearts and shed a tear. Or maybe that was just me? ;)
We explore around the lake until the sun goes down and then sign their marriage certificate. A pretty complete and great day if you as me. Although, that not fair as this is why I do this and love my job and my couples.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
