Annie and Kris really love nature and they jumped at the idea of taking thier engagement photos in Rocky Mountain National Park. The initial plan wasn't to have winter engagement photos but, due to life, RMNP is still amazing all year round. Extra perk in winter is that there are less people!
While we didn't get a usual moose sighting we were still graced with some very nice weather and fits of sunset before the sun eventually went down and it took and turn and got super windy and cold. It makes for some fun snuggly photos but by the end Kris was nearly an ice cube.
A key pro tip I can give you if you're considering winter engagement photos is to wear layers. Colorado's weather is finiky and even in January it can be 60 degrees and then flip to brutal cold. Also wearing layers makes it easy to change up your outfits for different looks and textures. Also a nice light jacket is good to bring with to take on an off to stay warm, but not to look so bulky. Electric handwarmers are amazing too!
Rocky Mountain National Park is 415 square miles so there is lots to explore. There is over 300 miles of hiking trails alone. Certainly we didn't see much wildlife this trip but there are there and more active in other seasons. Thankfull the park is still incredibly gorgeous and fun all year round. If you are considering an engagement photo session in Rocky Mountain National Park, I am your guy. Hit me up and let's go have some fun.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
