It's no secret I love the fall and Winter Park Colorado. Christina and Rob's Winter Park Mountain Lodge wedding was the first time I had photographed at that wedding venue. I've seen it so many times as I have shot at the Lodge at Sunspot at the resort a lot. I always wondered how it was as a wedding venue as I knew it had some incredible Aspen trees that I could see from the road.
The Winter Park Mountain Lodge just cleared out this new spot for wedding ceremonies which has an amazing view but they also made a neat stream that runs along the path to the site that just adds a special touch. I am not sure where they did wedding ceremonies before but I can't imagine it being better than this spot.
You always hope for your wedding day to be painless and stress free. Sometimes that happens but Christina and Rob's wedding really was. It started with my drive into the mountains. Traffic was a little ugghhhh getting out of Denver, but once I was going over Berthod Pass it was beautiful and I had this great sense of joy, calm, and that the was going to be perfect. Here is a link to Grand County's website that has a list of things to do like hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
I had so much fun with their friends and family. For Christina's father-daughter dance her dad put on this giant trenchcoat and hat and they danced to Secret Agent Man by Johnny Rivers. A definite surprise. I love the song and her dad's dancing was really funny hiding behind the collar. I could tell they were really loving it. Once the props from the photobooth made it to the dance floor, the party was on!... including all of Rob's guys dancing around a sombrero.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
