Joy and Spencer are this delightful couple from Nebraska that wanted to have a 4th of July destination wedding in Colorado and what better wedding venue than the
Silverlake Lodge just outside of Idaho Springs Colorado. Nestled right up in the mountains near
St Mary's Glacier where I had done
LJ and Nate's engagement session earlier this year and some of the most spectacular high mountain views you can see without hiking 6+ hours to a mountain top. Joy and Spencer had a small ceremony with thier families and close friends on the deck of the Silverlake Lodge followed by dinner and fireworks in nearby Blackhawk Colorado. The ceremony was very sweet with Joy's brother and sister singing a very nice song. About midway through taking the bridal party photos, the clouds rolled in and it began to rain. This tough group stuck it out as we made it around to spots I had seen earlier in the day. An amazing waterfall, a few lake, and huge mountains. Of course the fun would not be complete without some smoke bombs in heavy heavy rain. I have lots of love and respect for all of them for sticking it out to get to all the spots even though the weather didn't quite cooperate. Congratulations Joy and Spencer!
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
