The Colorado Chautauqua had me come out to take tintypes for their 125th anniversary party. I think it was a fantastic idea to come take portraits of attendees with a lens that is 140 years old. To up the ante we had some costumes on hand for guests to have fun with.
We produced over 80 portraits during my time there and had such a great time. We even took portraits of a few of the bands that performed. I captured a few gems on this day.
To my glee, everyone was so surprised and excited once I started with the first few portraits. I had several camera aficionados come up to me so puzzled and wondering how my setup worked. It's something I am more than happy to talk them through and tell them all about it.
I felt very fortunate to celebrate the anniversary and to meet everyone. A big thanks goes out to the Chautauqua Association for having me.
A little bit of history...
The Colorado Chautauqua, located in Boulder, Colorado, traces its roots back to the late 19th century Chautauqua Movement, a popular adult education movement in the United States.
