This Dao House Wedding was under some serious threat of bad weather. There were dark swirling clouds all around the Dao House's cabins but yet, it never came directly over us. I would say that Nikki and Jeff's love for each other and thier families kept it at bay.
One really touching moment of the day was Nikki's first look with her dad. Being a father myself, I really feel the weight of this moment. It was really sweet. Her father also officiated their wedding ceremony.
The Dao House has a really great ceremony site just up the hill from the main lodge and the cabins where the guests stay. It is half tightly packed with large pine trees and then overlooks a large aspen grove. The Dao House is a beautiful retreat center located just minutes from downtown Estes Park. With over 20 acres of land, it offers a serene and intimate setting for weddings, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and pristine forests. There was a small pack of Elk that just seemed to wander around without leaving the area. One even snuck up into Nikki and Jeff's portraits.
The Dao House's wedding spaces are versatile and can be customized to fit different themes and styles. The outdoor ceremony space offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and can accommodate up to 150 guests. The indoor reception space is cozy and intimate, with a fireplace and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The venue also has a spacious patio that's perfect for cocktail hour or an outdoor reception.
One of the highlights of having a wedding at the Dao House is the opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness. The venue offers several outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, and stargazing, that can be incorporated into the wedding weekend. The center's location also provides easy access to nearby attractions, such as Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park.
